Poll: Majority of Americans Side With Trump on National Anthem Protests

INJOA majority of Americans agree with President Donald Trump when it comes to NFL players' protests during the national anthem, according to a new survey.

A new poll from the right-leaning Remington Research Group found that nearly two-thirds of Americans — 64 percent — believe football players “should stand and be respectful during the national anthem.”

Following Sunday's NFL-wide “Star-Spangled Banner” protest by numerous players, 50 percent of Americans said they are “less likely” to tune in when their favorite teams play in the future.

Fifty-one percent of respondents said they already started off the year watching less football than they did in 2016 and 69 percent said the reason is that “players [are] using the NFL as a stage for their political views.”

While 31 percent said they support the players' demonstration during the national anthem, 60 percent said there is “a more appropriate place to protest.”
