North Carolina Bakery Donates Bread To Healthcare Workers

A bakery in Asheville, North Carolina has stepped up to help out the healthcare workers on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic by doing what they do best. Baking bread.

Geraldine's Bakery closed its doors due the state's stay at home order, but the bakery's owner Rosemary Dehlow decided to reopen so they could bake bread for workers at Mission Health hospital.

"I said to Fred, 'You know, why don’t we bring bread to Mission Hospital because the workers there they’re working their behinds off,'" Dehlow told WLOS.

On Wednesday (April 15), they dropped off 50 loaves of bread for the employees at the hospital. They plan to bring bread to the workers each week and hope to do so until the stay at home orders are lifted.
